The original Rotary Club in Missouri’s capital city, the Rotary Club of Jefferson City is a grassroots service organization that was established in 1918 by community leaders. The Rotary Club of Jefferson City was initially formed to raise money and establish a place for the youth of our community to gather. Today, our membership includes more than 100 civic-minded professional men and women, many of whom serve or have served in the highest professional capacities of their industries. Weekly meetings provide an enjoyable way to network and collectively plan and initiate significant contributions that promote the vision of Rotary locally and to needy areas of the world. We live by the motto “Service Above Self.”

What We Do
We meet weekly for fellowship to plan and carry out a variety of club, community and international service activities. Meetings are held Mondays at noon at the Miller Performing Arts Center and typically include a speaker of general interest to our members, such as prominent public and political figures, local elected officials and administrators, sports figures, authors, academics, or other leaders in a particular industry.

Help wanted, NEEDED: I previously mentioned at the Club meeting and in email updates, we are in need of some members to help the Club make a positive difference, please do not assume someone else will “do it.” I am glad to provide more information regarding expectations. Let me know of your willingness to assist on the following:
• “Tournament of Chaos” Golf Tournament fundraiser on May 7, 2019 with other Rotary Clubs: One person to assist with the planning process and communication with our Club about the event.
•Picnic Committee: Chair and members, Picnic scheduled for June 19, 2019. Thanks to those people thus far who have offered to assist.
•Club photo taker: I am restating our need to have a designated person take, or ensure the taking of (delegate to someone else), photographs at Club meetings. Please let me know if you are willing to assist.
•Club Website Coordinator (updater): Someone to update our Club website periodically; easy to do from any computer (i.e., home or office).
All Rotary Clubs Social at the Governor’s Mansion: Thanks to everyone who attended the “All Rotary Clubs Social at the Governor’s Mansion.” Thanks to Rebecca Gordon for assistance in coordinating and organizing the event. The event was an excellent opportunity to share Rotary experiences with Rotarians from other Jefferson City Rotary Clubs.
